Main Responsibilities:
1. Teach academic English courses to undergraduate students, covering academic writing, presentation skills, critical thinking, and discipline-specific language development.
2. Design and develop syllabi, teaching materials, and assessments that support English Medium Instruction (EMI) and scaffold students’ transition from bilingual to fully English-taught courses.
3. Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance English teaching within STEM and other research-driven fields.
4. Foster an international campus culture by organizing workshops, language immersion activities, and academic skills seminars.
5. Advise and mentor students in academic English proficiency, including one-on-one consultations on writing and presentations.
6. Undertake any other reasonable duties relevant to the post.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Native or near-native English proficiency (citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, or other English-speaking regions preferred).
2. A master’s degree (MA/MSc) or higher in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English Language Teaching, or a related field; a PhD is preferred.
3. A recognized teaching qualification (if not part of the degree), such as TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, DELTA, or equivalent certification.
4. At least two years of experience in teaching academic English at the university level, with a strong understanding of curriculum design, EMI methodologies, and student-centered learning approaches.
5. Experience with integrating technology into language teaching, such as learning management systems (LMS), AI-assisted tools, or blended learning techniques.
6. Strong intercultural communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a diverse, international academic environment.
7. A research background in EAP, EMI, language acquisition, or instructional innovation is a plus.
8. Passion for teaching and student engagement, with demonstrated experience in academic support, writing centers, or language enhancement programs.
